EMT/Paramedic
The Federal Detention Center, located in
historical downtown Philadelphia, is in need of certified
Paramedics. The position is part of the Health Services
Department, and responsible for providing health care and
counseling to include the daily administering of medication
to the inmate population. In addition, the incumbent may be
a first medical responder to institution emergencies and
required for providing immediate care to injured staff or
inmates. The incumbent is required to work a variety of
shifts and provide coverage on weekends on a rotating
basis. The incumbent will have daily and direct contact
with federal inmates, and is expected to perform a variety
of correctional duties such as pat searches, cell searches,
supervising inmates, securing doors and controlling
institution keys and equipment. The position will provide
broad experiences in patient care and treatment planning, as
well opportunities for advancement within the institution,
and geographic movement through out the agency.
